Lucinda Oates: Women's Bible Study for Non-Christians

|
Lucinda Oates became
involved with Stonecroft Ministries in 1978, as an attender of studies lead by
others, then leading as a study guide and as a member of the Christian Woman's
Board (in Maryland). (Stonecroft Ministries is a non-denominational,
non-profit, Christian organization with the vision of reaching women for Jesus
Christ.)
Using literature and
study books from Stonecroft, Lucinda has found that presenting
eight-to-ten-week studies in her home is an effective way to share salvation
through Jesus Christ with others. These studies also provide avenues on how to
apply biblical principals to everyday situations. |

Paula d'Entremont: Community Health Ministry

|
Parish
Nurse Paula d'Entremont volunteers her services at the church. This ministry
supports the philosophy of meeting the wholistic health needs of the Bethany Baptist Church
congregation. The Health Ministry Cabinet functions as a support group for the
Parish Nurse. The Deacon and Deaconness Boards have the visitation of the ill
and shut-ins as one of their responsibilities. The church budget supports this
ministry. See the Health Ministry web page for the
monthly newsletter.

Tom Elbourn, Carol Erickson: Our Father's Dresser
 | | Tom Elbourn
has worked for many years at Walmart in Gardner and started this ministry when
he realized how many clothing items he threw away -- things that were perfectly
fine but could not be sold due to such things as being part of an opened
package, someone had bought only one piece of a two-piece outfit, or a shirt
had a small, washable dirt mark |
| | |
Tom collects unused
clothing, stores it and then and then team member Carol Erickson distributes it when they learn of specific needs
either in the church family or in the local community, such as when people lose
their housing due to fire or other disasters. They also send clothing to other
places around the country, such as Apalachia, where church members are connected through missions
work.
