Bethany Baptist Church
The Home of Jesus' Friends in Gardner, MA

Our goal is to provide a fun-filled, family weekend through which participants will experience a living history, faith-based event.

Friday, July 9: 10:00-2:00: Kids Day

Friday will be divided into activities for the kids. Grade-specific lessons and craft times related to the Great Awakening and colonial Massachusetts will be offered.

Kids will be able to visit the animals, garden, and colonial crafters set up in tents around the parking lot.

We hope to have a variety of colonial re-enactors who will be depicting this time period with authenticity.

Saturday, July 10, 10:00-3:00: Family Day

Saturday is Family Day, when parents will join students in a structure similar to Friday’s.

Different lessons and crafts will be offered so that the kids who were present Friday will have different events to look forward to doing with their parents. Mostly the kids who participated Friday will be teaching their parents and showing off what they learned, while adding new activities.

Sunday, July 11 : 9:00-2:00 : Colonial Community Day

Sunday is a community event, in which people will come to an old-fashioned tent revival at Bethany for the morning worship service. People will be dressed up in colonial clothing and the music and message will be right out of the pages of history.

Pastor Meiners will even be dressed in a powdered wig.

We hope to have other churches participate in the Sunday service, so that many will get to experience a tent revival at its finest.

After the morning worship service, we will have a colonial community picnic on the lawn where people can bring their picnic baskets and join in colonial games of graces, sack races, and kite flying.
